About NovEdu
NovEdu is a companion app for students attending offline courses with their instructors. It provides secure access to supplementary online content including video lectures, course materials, and examinations.
How It Works
By using NovEdu, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Application.

2. Users of the Application
2.1 Students
Students are individuals who are currently enrolled in offline educational courses with their instructors. To access online content through NovEdu, students must:
- Be enrolled in an offline course with a registered instructor
- Create an account on NovEdu using their mobile phone number
- Be registered for the online course by their instructor
Once registered by their instructor, students can use the Application to:
- Watch recorded educational videos (online streaming and partial offline access)
- Access course materials assigned by their instructor
- Participate in time-limited examinations during scheduled periods
- Monitor their learning progress
2.2 Instructors
Instructors are educators who teach students in offline settings and use NovEdu to provide supplementary online content. Through a separate dashboard system, instructors can:
- Register their offline students for online course access
- Upload and manage educational videos and course materials
- Create and administer examinations, including timed exams to assess student knowledge
- Monitor student progress, including video viewing activity and exam results
- Manage course enrollments and student access
3. Eligibility
NovEdu is intended for users who are at least sixteen (16) years of age. By using this Application, you represent and warrant that you are at least 16 years old and are a student enrolled in an offline course with a registered instructor.
4. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us, as well as information that is automatically collected when you use the Application.
4.1 Personal Information You Provide

4.3 Device Information Automatically Collected
When you access the Application, we automatically collect certain device information for security, functionality, and service improvement purposes:
Unique Device Identifier (UUID)
We generate and store a Universally Unique Identifier (UUID) on your device. This identifier:
- Is randomly generated by the Application when you first log in
- Is stored securely in your device's encrypted storage
- Is not a hardware identifier (not IMEI, Android ID, or similar)
- Is used solely to identify your authorized device for the single device policy
- Is linked to your account to prevent unauthorized access
- Is deleted from our servers when you delete your account
Device Technical Information
We collect the following technical information about your device:
For Android Devices:
- Device model
- Device brand
- Product name
- Android operating system version
For iOS Devices:
- Device model
- System version
- System name
This information is used to:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues you may experience
- Investigate and resolve app crashes or errors
- Provide better technical support when you contact us
- Ensure compatibility with your device
- Improve the Application's performance across different devices
4.4 Information We Do NOT Collect
We want to be transparent about the data we do not collect:
- Location Data Not Collected — We do not collect or track your geographic location
- Analytics Data Not Collected — We do not currently use third-party analytics tools
- Payment Information Not Collected — The Application does not process payments
- Contacts or Address Book Not Collected — We do not access your device contacts
- Camera or Microphone Data Not Collected — We do not access your camera or microphone for recording purposes
4.5 Security Features
For content protection purposes, NovEdu may use the following device features based on course security settings configured by your instructor:
Biometric Authentication
Some courses may require fingerprint or face verification before accessing content. This verification is processed entirely on your device using your device's built-in biometric system.
- NovEdu does NOT receive, collect, store, or transmit your actual biometric data
- We only receive confirmation of whether authentication succeeded or failed
- Your biometric data remains securely stored in your device's hardware
Audio Device Detection
Some courses may require headphones to be connected before playing video or audio content.
- We check the connection status of audio devices only
- We do not collect any data about your headphones or audio settings
- This is used solely to enforce instructor-configured security requirements
4.6 Audio Watermarking for Content Protection
To protect educational content from unauthorized recording and distribution, NovEdu may periodically announce your name and student identifier through audio during video playback. This serves as an audio watermark that:
- Deters unauthorized screen recording of course content
- Helps identify the source if content is illegally distributed
- Is audible only through your device's audio output (speakers or headphones)
This feature uses your account information (name and ID) that you provided during registration. The audio announcement is generated locally on your device using text-to-speech technology — no additional data is collected or transmitted to our servers.
5. Device Limitations and Access Control
Single Device Policy
To protect the security of your account and ensure fair access to educational content, NovEdu operates under a single device policy:
- Each user account can only be active on one (1) device at a time
- Your account is linked to the device on which you first log in or most recently authorized
- You cannot simultaneously access your account from multiple devices
- This policy helps prevent unauthorized sharing of account credentials and protects the integrity of course content
5.2 Changing Your Device
If you need to change your registered device (for example, if you purchase a new phone, your device is lost, stolen, or damaged), you must contact our support team to request a device change. To request a device change:
- Contact NovEdu Support via email
- Provide your registered mobile phone number and account details
- Explain the reason for the device change request
- Our support team will verify your identity and process the request
- Device change requests are subject to verification to protect your account security
- Frequent device change requests may be subject to additional review
- Unauthorized attempts to bypass the single device policy may result in account suspension
5.3 How Device Information Supports This Policy
The device information described in Section 4.3 (UUID and device technical details) is stored on our servers to:
- Verify that login attempts come from your authorized device
- Enforce the single device policy
- Prevent unauthorized access to your account
- Protect the security of course content
When you request a device change through support, your old device's UUID is replaced with a new one generated on your new device.
6. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

- To create and manage your user account
- To authenticate your identity through OTP verification
- To enable secure login to your account
- To allow your instructor to identify and enroll you in their courses
- To enforce the single device policy
6.2 Educational Services
- To provide access to courses in which your instructor has enrolled you

6.3 Instructor-Student Relationship Support
- To facilitate the digital extension of your offline learning relationship with your instructor
- To enable your instructor to monitor your engagement with course materials
- To support your instructor in delivering a comprehensive educational experience
6.4 Service Operation and Security
- To ensure proper functioning of the Application
- To identify and prevent fraudulent activity or unauthorized access to course content
- To enforce the single device policy and prevent account sharing
- To enforce our Terms of Service
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Application
6.5 Technical Support and Troubleshooting
- To diagnose and resolve technical issues or app crashes
- To provide better support when you contact us

7. Disclosure of Your Information
We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties for their commercial purposes. Your information may be disclosed in the following limited circumstances:
With Your Instructor
Since NovEdu is designed to support your existing educational relationship with your instructor, your designated instructor(s) will have access to the following information for educational purposes:
- Your account information including your name and mobile phone number (to identify and enroll you in courses)
- Your video viewing progress and completion status
- Your course enrollment status
- Your overall learning progress within assigned courses
This access is strictly limited to instructors who have enrolled you in their courses and is necessary for the provision of educational services. Your instructor uses this information to:
- Track your engagement with course materials
- Assess your academic performance
- Provide appropriate support for your learning journey
- Maintain records consistent with their offline course administration
Duration of Instructor Access
Your Instructor's access to your data is limited to the duration of your enrollment in their course:
- Instructors can only view your data while you are actively enrolled in their course
- When you are removed or deactivated from a course, the Instructor no longer has access to your learning data for that course
- This ensures your data is only shared with Instructors who are currently responsible for your education
8. Data Storage and Security
8.1 Data Storage
All personal data and educational information collected through NovEdu is stored on our secure servers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
8.2 Security Measures
We employ the following security measures to protect your information:
- Secure authentication through OTP verification
- Single device policy enforcement to prevent unauthorized account access
- Secure storage of device identifiers using encrypted storage mechanisms
- Instructor-specific access controls ensuring instructors can only view data of their own enrolled students
- Regular security assessments and updates
8.3 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active. When you delete your account through the profile settings in the Application, your personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers.
9. Your Rights and Choices
9.1 Account Information
You can review and update your account information directly within the Application settings.
9.2 Account Deletion
You have the right to delete your account at any time. To delete your account:
- Open the NovEdu Application
- Navigate to your Profile settings
- Select the account deletion option
- Confirm your decision
Upon account deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed from our servers.
9.3 Device Management
To change your registered device, you must contact our support team as described in Section 5.2. You cannot change your device directly through the Application.
9.4 Course Enrollment
Course enrollment is managed by your instructor. If you wish to be removed from a course, please contact your instructor directly to request removal.
10. Offline Content and Local Storage
NovEdu allows partial offline access to educational content. When you download content for offline viewing:
- The content is stored locally on your device
- Downloaded content remains subject to course access restrictions set by your instructor
- Offline content may be automatically removed when your course access expires or when your instructor removes you from the course
- Offline content is only accessible on your registered device
11. Children's Privacy
NovEdu is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16 years of age. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete such information from our records as soon as possible.
If you are a parent or guardian, and you believe that your child under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Posting the new Privacy Policy within the Application
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy
- Sending you a notification through the Application (for significant changes)
Your continued use of the Application after the effective date of the revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
